A BrowserStack alternative, or the agent beside it?
mini and BrowserStack.
BrowserStack runs the tests your team writes. mini writes, runs and maintains its own.
| Capability | BrowserStack | mini |
|---|---|---|
| Writes the tests itself | Its agents turn test cases into tests | A scenario and its acceptance criteria |
| Keeps them current as the app changes | Its Self-Healing Agent repairs tests | Automatic with GitHub; via your coding agent otherwise |
| Flags issues no test asked about | Accessibility scans on screens your tests visit | UI/UX suggestions, never blocking |
| iOS, Android and web | No desktop Safari or Edge | |
| Physical phones | iPhones (TestFlight) and Android phones, on request | |
| Hundreds of device models | Its core strength | Few models: simulators, emulators, some phones |
| Video, repro steps and fix prompt by default | Video and AI failure analysis | Plus steps to reproduce |
| Same path on every run | Runs your scripts | Path varies; criteria stay fixed |
| Open source, free to self-host | A hosted service |
Same release. Different hands.
One pull request adds PayPal. Your team writes the test and BrowserStack runs it; mini adds it itself.
Pick the one that fits.
Checked against BrowserStack’s public docs on 5 October 2026.
Pick BrowserStack if…
- You need a wide matrix of real device models and OS versions.
- You already have scripts, and people to keep them.
- Your testers want live, hands-on sessions on real devices.
Pick mini if…
- Nobody has time to write and maintain the scripts.
- You want mini to flag UI/UX issues nobody wrote a test for.
- Your flows need several phones in one test, without scripting each step.
Use both.
Keep the device matrix
BrowserStack keeps running your scripts across the models you need.
Give mini the suite nobody writes
New features and hard flows, beside your scripts.
Read both on each release
Device coverage from your scripts, behavior coverage from mini.
Doesn’t BrowserStack have AI agents too?
Yes. BrowserStack states its agents turn test cases into low-code tests and repair them. mini writes the test cases too, from your app, code and specs.
Does mini run on BrowserStack devices?
No. mini runs on its own devices, beside BrowserStack, not on it.
Can mini run alongside BrowserStack?
Yes. mini doesn’t touch your BrowserStack setup. Run both on the same builds, and retire a BrowserStack test only once mini covers it.
Does mini have as many device models?
No. mini runs on physical iPhones and Android phones (on request), simulators, emulators and browsers, with fewer models. For dozens of specific models, use BrowserStack.
Does mini audit websites for accessibility?
No. mini audits iOS and Android apps against WCAG 2.2 A and AA, on request. Web accessibility is not audited.
Keep the device matrix. Hand over the tests.
Bring a build and the flows nobody has scripted. We’ll show you mini writing them.
