# Members and roles

> Invite your team to a workspace, give each person a role, remove members and move between workspaces.

Everyone who works with Mini on your apps is a member of your workspace. This page covers inviting people, what each role can do, removing someone and switching between the workspaces you belong to.

| Role | What it can do |
| - | - |
| **User** | Can run tests and edit apps, but not manage members or billing. |
| **Admin** | Can also manage members, integrations and billing. |
| **Owner** | Has full workspace access, including owner-level member controls. |

Roles apply to the whole workspace: a member has the same role in every app of it.

## Invite someone

Owners and admins invite people from **Settings → Members**.

**1. Open the invite dialog**

Click **Invite member** on the **Members** page. The same dialog opens from **Invite** in the workspace menu, at the top of the sidebar.

**2. Fill in the invitation**

Enter their **Email address**, pick a **Workspace role** and a **Job title**. The job title is required. Mini uses it to decide whose word to follow when two people on your team disagree on what the product should do.

**3. Send it**

Click **Send invitation**. They get an email with a link to accept it, and the invitation shows under **Pending invitations** until they do.

The invited person opens the link, signs in or creates an account with the invited email address, and clicks **Join Workspace**. If they're signed in with another address, the page offers **Switch account**. They can also **Decline**.

A few things to know:

* **Who can invite whom.** Admins invite users and admins. Owners can also invite owners.
* **Seats.** The **Members** page shows how many of your plan's seats are used. When every seat is taken, **Invite member** is disabled: free one by removing a member or revoking a pending invitation, or upgrade the plan in **Settings → Usage & billing**.
* **An expired or revoked link** shows **Invitation Expired** or **Invitation Revoked**. Send a new invitation.
* **Revoke a pending invitation** from its row under **Pending invitations**.

## What each role can do

Users do the day-to-day work: they run tests, write and edit scenarios, triage results, and manage the app's test accounts, files, secrets and skills. Owners and admins also see the workspace and app controls listed here.

| Action | User | Admin | Owner |
| - | - | - | - |
| Run tests, edit scenarios, triage issues | ✅ | ✅ | ✅ |
| Test accounts, files, secrets and skills | ✅ | ✅ | ✅ |
| Create and delete apps, change **App settings → General** | | ✅ | ✅ |
| Link a repository, edit build environment variables | | ✅ | ✅ |
| Connect integrations in **Settings → Integrations** | | ✅ | ✅ |
| **Members**, **API keys**, **Usage & billing** | | ✅ | ✅ |
| Delete runs, revert a merged draft | | ✅ | ✅ |
| Invite owners, promote and demote members | | | ✅ |

Users don't see **Members** or **API keys** in the workspace settings, and on **App settings → General** they see a note that only workspace owners and admins can change these settings.

## Change a role or a job title

On **Settings → Members**, open the actions menu on a member's row:

* **Promote to admin** or **Demote to user**. Only owners change roles.
* Owners and admins can set or change a member's job title from the same row. Members without one show **Set a job title**: until it's set, Mini won't pick a side when that person disagrees with someone, and asks you instead.

## Remove a member

Open the member's actions menu and click **Remove from workspace**, then confirm. They lose access to every app in the workspace right away.

* Admins can remove users.
* Owners can remove admins and users.
* Nobody can remove themselves this way, and the workspace's primary owner can't be removed.

To leave a workspace yourself, open **Settings → General** and click **Leave** next to **Leave workspace**. You lose access to every app in it and need a new invitation to come back. Owners don't see this option.

## Switch workspaces

If you belong to more than one workspace, click the workspace name at the top of the sidebar. The menu lists your **Recent** workspaces and all your **Workspaces**, with a search box, and any **Invitations** waiting for you with a **Join** button. You can also reach it from your account menu with **Switch workspace**.

Apps, members, integrations and billing belong to one workspace, so switching changes everything you see.
