# Jira

> Let Mini read your Jira tickets, test a ticket when someone mentions @Mini in a comment, and file what it finds as Jira tickets.

Connect Jira and Mini works from your tickets: it reads them for context, tests a ticket when someone mentions `@Mini` in a comment and answers right there, and turns any finding into a Jira ticket with the steps to reproduce and the recording. This page covers both connections and what each one gives you.

| Connection | What it gives you | Who sets it up |
| - | - | - |
| **Atlassian** | Mini reads your boards, sprints and tickets for context, and you file or link Jira tickets from findings. | A workspace owner or admin, from **Settings → Integrations** |
| **Mini on Jira** | `@Mini` in a Jira comment tests the ticket and replies on it. | A Jira site admin, then a workspace admin to confirm |

## Connect Atlassian

Go to **Settings → Integrations → Atlassian**, click **Connect** and approve access with your Atlassian account. From then on:

* Mini reads your Jira tickets, their comments, screenshots and the test cases you keep there, and uses them as context when it writes and runs scenarios.
* Findings get a Jira option when you file a ticket. See [File a ticket from a finding](#file-a-ticket-from-a-finding).

## Set up Mini on Jira

**1. Start from Jira**

A Jira site admin opens Jira settings, then **Apps**, then **Mini**, and clicks **Connect to Minitest**. The link it opens lasts 15 minutes and works once.

**2. Pick the workspace**

An admin of your Minitap workspace confirms which workspace Mini works for and clicks **Connect site**. Mini tests any app of that workspace, and the workspace's credits pay for the tests. A Jira site works with one workspace, and a workspace with one Jira site.

**3. Each person links their Jira account**

The first time someone mentions `@Mini`, Mini replies with a link to connect their Jira account to their Minitap account. They can also do it from **Mini** in their Jira personal settings. Minitap stores only the Jira account ID and display name.

The **Mini on Jira** panel in **Settings → Integrations** shows the connected site, how many members linked their Jira account, and your own link, which you can **Unlink** at any time.

## Mention @Mini on a ticket

Write a comment that mentions `@Mini` on the ticket you want tested:

```text theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light","dark":"vesper"}}
@Mini can you test this on the latest build?
```

Mini reads the ticket with its comments and attachments, works out which app it concerns (and asks when it can't tell), and tests the change against the ticket's acceptance criteria. It replies on the ticket with the run report, the recording and the scenario it ran. Reply in the same thread to steer it: Mini reads every comment.

Mini only writes comments. It never changes a ticket's status or fields.

Every ticket Mini works on also appears in **Mini sessions**, for the whole workspace (open it from **Settings → Integrations** with **See Mini sessions**). A session shows where Mini stands, the drafts it opened, and each criterion with its result and evidence.

## File a ticket from a finding

You can file a Jira ticket from an [issue](https://www.minitap.ai/docs/minitest/triage/issues.md), a [UI/UX suggestion](https://www.minitap.ai/docs/minitest/triage/suggestions.md) or a failed criterion in a [run report](https://www.minitap.ai/docs/minitest/runs/run-report.md).

**1. Open the ticket menu**

Click **Ticket** on the finding and choose Jira.

**2. Link a ticket you already have**

Search Jira by key, words or link, or pick from the recently updated tickets. The finding shows the ticket's status from then on.

**3. Or create a new one**

Click **Create a new Jira ticket**, pick the project, and fill in the fields your Jira project requires. The ticket lands with the steps to reproduce and the recording attached. Use **Link to another ticket** to connect it to an existing ticket with a Jira link type.
